8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2020 Lexus ES 300h?
The NHTSA has issued five recalls affecting the 2020 Lexus ES 300h: three for the forward collision avoidance (Pre-Collision System), one for the brake booster pump, and one for the 2.5L engine casting porosity. These recalls concern the Pre-Collision System unexpectedly applying the brakes, a potential brake booster pump failure that can disable stability control and braking assist, and porous engine castings that may allow coolant leaks leading to overheating or fire risk. NHTSA recall campaigns include manufacturer repair at no cost to owners; dealer campaign numbers include F1V / F2E (PCS), K2F / KLF (brake booster pump), and 20LA02 (engine).
How do I check if my 2020 Lexus ES 300h has an open recall?
You can check your vehicle by VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your VIN to Nalley Lexus Roswell and we will confirm open recalls for free. Use the NHTSA VIN lookup for immediate verification, or contact our service team and schedule service and we will perform a complimentary VIN recall check with OEM diagnostic tools. Our factory-trained technicians will explain any active campaigns and the recommended repairs — recalls are performed free of charge with OEM parts.
How much does a 2020 Lexus ES 300h recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2020 Lexus ES 300h are free of charge to the vehicle owner. Nalley Lexus Roswell performs recall repairs at no cost under the manufacturer program; only dealers authorized by Lexus should perform these repairs to ensure OEM parts and warranty compliance. If you need additional, non-recall maintenance at the same visit, ask about our current service specials and available service financing to pay over time.
Can I get my 2020 Lexus ES 300h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by an authorized franchise dealer to guarantee OEM parts, manufacturer training, and free recall coverage as intended by the manufacturer and NHTSA. Independent shops cannot always access required OEM software updates, factory diagnostic tools, or replacement parts provided through the manufacturer's recall program; Nalley Lexus Roswell uses factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostics to ensure proper repair. If you prefer local service, our Roswell facility serves Alpharetta and the greater Atlanta area and you can schedule appointment online for a free recall inspection.
How long does a 2020 Lexus ES 300h recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2020 Lexus ES 300h take from under an hour up to a day depending on parts availability and the repair type. Pre-Collision System component replacements are typically completed within a few hours; engine block replacements (for porosity issues) can take longer and may require parts ordering or a loaner vehicle. Call Nalley Lexus Roswell or schedule service so we can estimate turnaround, check parts, and provide a courtesy vehicle if needed.
Does an open recall affect my 2020 Lexus ES 300h's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can lower trade-in offers and may deter private buyers because many buyers and dealers check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recalls addressed at Nalley Lexus Roswell using OEM parts restores the vehicle’s safety status and protects resale value; use our online trade appraisal at sell your car online to get an updated offer after recall completion. Resolving recalls also simplifies inspections and future transfers of ownership; we provide documentation confirming the manufacturer recall work.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2020 Lexus ES 300h recall?
Some states or inspection programs may flag certain safety-related recalls and unresolved safety defects could impact inspections or registration decisions. Addressing recall work at Nalley Lexus Roswell ensures your 2020 Lexus ES 300h meets manufacturer safety standards and reduces the risk of inspection issues; schedule service online to confirm status. We also advise customers that unresolved safety recalls can affect insurance claims and coverage in rare cases, so prompt dealer repair is the safest choice.
