Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2022 Lexus ES 300h?
The NHTSA records show 5 recalls associated with the ES 300h family, covering forward collision avoidance, brake booster pump, and certain 2.5L engine casting issues. Specifically, there are three recalls for the Pre-Collision System (PCS) that can cause unexpected braking, one recall for a brake booster pump that can disable stability control or braking assist, and one engine casting recall that can allow coolant leaks and possible overheating. Nalley Lexus Roswell can verify your VIN and perform any manufacturer recall repairs free of charge; schedule service online or call our service department.
How do I check if my 2022 Lexus ES 300h has an open recall?
You can check your VIN on NHTSA.gov or bring your vehicle to Nalley Lexus Roswell for a free VIN recall check. Visit NHTSA.gov and enter your 17-character VIN, or contact our service team and we will confirm any open recalls and advise next steps. If you prefer, schedule service and we will run an OEM diagnostic and apply the free recall repair if required.
How much does a 2022 Lexus ES 300h recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs are completed at no cost to the owner when performed by an authorized Lexus dealer. All corrective actions listed in NHTSA notices — such as replacing PCS components, inspecting or replacing the brake booster pump, or replacing an engine block if needed — are covered and free of charge. If you need additional non-recall maintenance, ask about our service specials and available service financing so you can get work done now and pay later.
Can I get my 2022 Lexus ES 300h recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be performed by an authorized dealer to ensure OEM parts and factory procedures are used and to maintain the free repair promise from the manufacturer. Independent shops cannot always obtain factory parts or proprietary calibration procedures required for safety systems like PCS or engine replacements; for your safety choose Nalley Lexus Roswell, a franchise Lexus dealer with factory-trained technicians and OEM diagnostics. To protect warranty, safety, and resale value, schedule appointment with our service center for recall work.
How long does a 2022 Lexus ES 300h recall repair take?
Repair time varies by campaign: PCS component replacement or inspection often takes 1–3 hours, brake booster pump inspection or replacement can take a few hours, and engine replacement may require longer depending on parts availability. Nalley Lexus Roswell provides an estimated turnaround when you schedule service, and we prioritize recalls to get you back on the road safely as quickly as possible. Ask about loaner vehicles, shuttle service, and our service financing options when you book to make the visit convenient.
Does an open recall affect my 2022 Lexus ES 300h's trade-in or resale value?
Yes — unresolved recalls can reduce trade-in offers and deter private buyers who check NHTSA records before purchase. Having recalls completed at an authorized dealer like Nalley Lexus Roswell proves the vehicle is maintained to factory safety standards and preserves value and marketability. When you are ready to trade, visit our trade-in page at sell-your-car-online.htm after recall repairs to maximize appraisal value.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2022 Lexus ES 300h recall?
Some safety-related recalls (brakes, stability systems) can affect inspection outcomes depending on your state’s rules; unresolved critical recalls increase safety risks and may trigger inspection flags. To avoid inspection or insurance complications, have recall repairs completed at Nalley Lexus Roswell; recall work is free and performed using OEM parts and factory procedures. Schedule appointment with us for a VIN check and we’ll ensure your vehicle meets safety requirements.

Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing (Toyota) is recalling certain 2020 Toyota Avalon Hybrid, Camry, Camry Hybrid and Lexus ES300h and 2019-2020 RAV4 and RAV4 Hybrid vehicles equipped with 2.5L 4-Cylinder engines. Corrective Action

Toyota will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and replace the engine including the engine block, as necessary, free of charge. The recall began April 3, 2020. Owners may contact Toyota customer service at 1-888-270-9371 or Lexus at 1-800-255-3987. Toyota's number for this recall is 20TA04. Lexus' number for this recall is 20LA02.
