6 common questions answered
Is the oil filter replaced every time a 2022 Lexus ES 350 has its oil changed? The manufacturer’s published schedule calls for the oil filter on a 2022 Lexus ES 350 to be replaced every 10,000 miles.
Replacing the filter with the oil gives fresh lubricant a clean filtering surface. The exact timing should also be considered alongside the vehicle’s service history and maintenance schedule.
- Filter replacement is paired with the oil service.
- The filter captures debris carried by the oil.
- Service can be booked at Nalley Lexus Roswell.
What is included in an oil filter replacement on a 2022 Lexus ES 350?The service includes an engine-matched filter, a new drain plug gasket or washer where used, and a leak check after the engine runs.
The filter is matched to the engine actually fitted in the vehicle. Renewing the sealing item supports proper reassembly, while the post-service inspection checks the filter seal.
- Filter matched to the engine specification.
- New drain plug gasket or washer where applicable.
- Leak check at the filter seal after running.
What happens if the oil filter on a 2022 Lexus ES 350 is not replaced?A loaded filter can open its bypass valve, allowing oil to circulate without being filtered.
The engine may still receive oil, but it may no longer receive filtered oil. Debris that the filter would normally hold can therefore continue through the lubrication system, which is why the filter is replaced with the oil.
- The filter holds debris carried by engine oil.
- A bypass valve opens when the filter loads.
- Filter replacement restores a clean filtering surface.
Does a 2022 Lexus ES 350 need a specific oil filter?Yes, the filter is matched to the 3.5-liter, six-cylinder engine in the 2022 Lexus ES 350.
Filters are not interchangeable across engines because fit and application depend on the engine being serviced. Nalley Lexus Roswell matches the filter to the engine actually fitted without relying on a universal fit.
- Engine displacement is 3.5 liters.
- The engine layout is a six-cylinder V6.
- The filter is replaced alongside the oil.
Can the oil be changed on a 2022 Lexus ES 350 without changing the filter? The oil can be drained and refilled separately, but the manufacturer’s published schedule calls for replacing the oil filter every 10,000 miles.
Leaving a loaded filter in place can allow the bypass valve to send unfiltered oil through the engine. The appropriate maintenance decision depends on the manufacturer’s schedule and the vehicle’s service history.
- Fresh oil does not clean a loaded filter.
- The filter holds debris from the oil.
- Oil and filter service addresses both items together.
