SCHEDULE NOWFrequently asked questionsFrequently Asked Questions
6 common questions answered
Is the oil filter replaced every time a 2022 Lexus LC 500h has its oil changed?Yes, the manufacturer’s schedule calls for replacing the oil filter every 5,000 miles on the 2022 Lexus LC 500h.
Replacing the filter with the oil gives the fresh oil a clean filter for capturing debris. A loaded filter can open its bypass valve, allowing unfiltered oil to circulate.
- Schedule: every 5,000 miles
- Vehicle: 2022 Lexus LC 500h
- Service: filter replacement with the oil
What is included in an oil filter replacement on a 2022 Lexus LC 500h?The service includes a filter matched to the engine, a new drain plug gasket or washer where applicable, and a leak check after the engine runs.
The replacement filter is selected for the 3.5-liter V6 engine actually fitted to the vehicle. The sealing hardware is renewed where this engine uses it, and the filter seal is checked after operation.
- Engine-matched oil filter
- New drain plug gasket or washer where used
- Post-service filter-seal leak check
What happens if the oil filter on a 2022 Lexus LC 500h is not replaced? If the filter becomes loaded and is not replaced, its bypass valve opens and oil circulates through the engine without being filtered.
The engine can still receive oil, but the oil no longer receives the filter’s debris-capturing benefit. A noisy engine or an oil-pressure warning deserves prompt inspection, while the manufacturer’s schedule provides the routine replacement point.
- Debris remains in the oil flow
- The bypass valve may open
- Oil-pressure warnings need inspection
Does a 2022 Lexus LC 500h need a specific oil filter?Yes, the filter must be matched to the 3.5-liter, six-cylinder V6 engine, because filters are not interchangeable across engines.
The correct filter is selected for the engine actually fitted to the vehicle rather than treated as a universal component. Nalley Lexus Roswell can match the filter during the oil service without relying on a filter intended for another engine.
- Engine displacement: 3.5 liters
- Engine layout: V6
- Filter choice: matched to this engine
Can the oil be changed on a 2022 Lexus LC 500h without changing the filter? The oil can be drained and replaced separately, but the manufacturer’s schedule calls for replacing the oil filter every 5,000 miles.
Keeping the filter replacement with the oil service lets the new oil circulate through a filter ready to hold debris. Whether additional work is appropriate depends on the manufacturer’s schedule, an inspection, and the vehicle’s service history.
- Filter replacement schedule: 5,000 miles
- Fresh oil works with a clean filter
- Service history helps guide maintenance
