Frequently Asked Questions

8 common questions answered

What are the known NHTSA recalls for a 2018 Lexus IS 350?
The NHTSA has issued 14 recalls affecting the 2018 Lexus IS 350, covering air bag inflators (7), fuel pump assemblies (5), and fuel system pulsation dampers (2). These recalls include air bag inflator defects that may explosively deploy and send metal fragments into the cabin, fuel pump failures that can cause engine stall, and fuel delivery pipe issues that can leak and increase fire risk. NHTSA recall campaign IDs referenced by Lexus/Toyota include JLI/JLK/JLF and 20LA01/20TA02 among others; owners should consult NHTSA.gov for detailed documents.
How do I check if my 2018 Lexus IS 350 has an open recall?
Use your 17-digit VIN at NHTSA.gov or call Lexus customer service to confirm open recalls for your 2018 Lexus IS 350. Bring your VIN to Nalley Lexus Roswell and we will verify any open recalls free of charge and advise next steps — you can schedule service online for a convenience check. We also scan with OEM diagnostic tools and provide written confirmation of the recall status so you can show proof for resale or inspections.
How much does a 2018 Lexus IS 350 recall repair cost?
Manufacturer recall repairs for the 2018 Lexus IS 350 are free of charge when performed at a certified Lexus dealer. Nalley Lexus Roswell performs recall work at no cost using OEM parts and factory-trained technicians; if additional non-recall repairs are needed, we’ll provide an estimate and service financing options so you can get repairs now and pay later.
Can I get my 2018 Lexus IS 350 recall fixed at an independent shop or do I need a dealer?
Recall repairs must be completed by a manufacturer-authorized dealer to ensure the correct OEM remedy and to preserve warranty and safety documentation for the 2018 Lexus IS 350. Nalley Lexus Roswell is a factory franchise dealer with direct access to Lexus parts, service bulletins, and recall campaign repairs; independent shops may not have the correct OEM inflator or updated fuel pump assembly required by the recall.
How long does a 2018 Lexus IS 350 recall repair take?
Most recall repairs for the 2018 Lexus IS 350 are completed in a few hours to one business day, depending on parts availability and the specific recall remedy. Some fuel pump campaigns required improved assemblies and staged remedies; Nalley Lexus Roswell will advise expected turnaround when you schedule appointment and can provide loaner or shuttle options when available.
Does an open recall affect my 2018 Lexus IS 350's trade-in or resale value?
An unresolved recall can lower trade-in value and deter buyers, because many dealers and private purchasers verify recall clearance before purchase. Resolving recalls at Nalley Lexus Roswell protects resale value and streamlines trade-in paperwork — you can obtain an appraisal at our trade-in page after repairs are completed.
Can I fail a state inspection because of an unresolved 2018 Lexus IS 350 recall?
While not all states fail a vehicle solely for an open recall, certain safety-related recalls (air bag, fuel system) can affect inspection outcomes or insurance claims if left unaddressed. To avoid complications with inspections or insurance, bring your 2018 Lexus IS 350 to Nalley Lexus Roswell for free recall repair; we document the work and provide proof of compliance.
